My Creative Space_Care Package

Life is strange - who would ever think that me and many of my friends will be scattered all over the world? It does provide an obstacle to giving something so seemingly simple as comfort and sympathy. What can a crafty person do in such a situation? Make something, of course. This is a part of a care package for a dear friend of mine, living pretty much on the other side of the world now, and who knows if we ever meet again. As long as I've known her, she has always been prone to colds, so I've made something to keep her warm. Just a cherry pit heat pad and a tissue holder, but hopefully they will brighten her day a bit, too. I mean, if she has to blow her nose often, at least she can do it in style!

For the pillow I've used the motif from a wonderful, wonderful A Rainbow of Stitches. The ribbons are supposed to give a girly touch to otherwise a mundane object (otherwise I'm afraid the pillow will be stolen by her husband). The tissue holder is done with the pattern I've found on Sew, Mama, Sew! The idea is amazingly simple, the only thing I don't get is how I didn't come up with it myself!
